MHG - Management Services
Each property we support is independently owned and operated. Regardless of the ownership structure, the number of partners, or the hotel’s franchise / independent designation, MHG provides comprehensive operations and management services. MHG maintains a cross-functional team focused on the seamless integration of business operations, including quality renovations and maintenance, strong sales and marketing, and centralized accounting and reporting for all of our properties. Below is a brief description of our Management Services:
Our principle philosophy is to provide quality customer service through a clean and safe lodging experience. We implement management efficiencies that decrease unnecessary expenditures without sacrificing quality and convenience sought by our customers. Additionally, we assure and maintain high quality compliance throughout all of our franchised and independent properties, as further evidenced by our AAA status on our independent properties. We have received “Renovation of the Year” awards of for our Comfort Inns located in Parkersburg, WV (2008) and Grantsville, MD (2010). Also, we are recipients of the 2017 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for our properties in Bridgeport, WV (Comfort Suites) and Weston, WV (Super 8). Opening in Fall 2018 is our Hampton Inn located in Weston, WV.
Sales & Marketing
Our sales team focuses on tourism and travel, sports and entertainment, and corporate businesses, particularly those serving Federal government, healthcare, and energy sectors. We structure our rates as market conditions warrant, optimizing the business value for our partners.
Centralized Accounting & Reporting
We provide centralized accounting, property audits, internal controls and reporting to our partners, lenders, and franchises. We benchmark key hotel statistics and financial reports to make real-time decisions that ensure our properties are running cost-effectively and profitably. We also audit all properties regularly to ensure operational controls and quality standards are being met.
MHG - Portfolio of Properties
MHG has a strong portfolio consisting of 10 properties located in West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia. We are skilled in bringing new properties into our portfolio through Acquisitions and Property Development.
Acquisitions - Foreclosures & Mismanaged Properties
MHG specializes in acquisitions of foreclosed or mismanaged hotel properties. Our experiences consist of high quality property renovations, seamless integration of operations management, and profitable business generation. We maintain strong relations with numerous banks to secure adequate financing for our acquisitions, and produce quick returns in our investments.
At MHG, we thrive on our vast knowledge of local markets to gain competitive advantage when developing new properties. We identify target markets and focus on location, brand, and amenities required for a successful venture. Accordingly, we have identified the markets of North Central West Virginia, South Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Maryland, and the greater Washington, DC areas for new property acquisition or development.
MHG has tremendous experience in working with many limited service franchises including Hilton (Hampton Inn), Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inn), InterContinental Hotel Group (Holiday Inn Express), Wyndham Hospitality Group (Days Inn, Super 8), and Best Western. We will be leveraging these experiences to expand our opportunities with other franchises, to include Marriott, Hyatt, and Carlson Hotels.
The Heldreth Motel (Kingwood, WV) and Mountaineer Inn* (Philippi, WV) are the longest standing properties in our portfolio. It is through our direct support of these Independent Properties that have yielded successful business expansion of our current portfolio for Franchised Hotels.
